Should banks have a chief customer officer sit on the Board?

This debate hosted by IBM in conjunction with Critical Eye illustrates the pressure banks are coming under to demonstrate their customer focus credentials. We would agree with the senior business leaders on this panel that accountability for the customer should sit with those people running the business. We don’t see the rationale for having a separate Chief Customer Officer role on the Board.
