The inaugural NED session took place on 28th November 2017. The aim was to help potential Chairmen learn the trade from current incumbents and in this case, the regulator.
This was the beginning of what we have called NED School. Where eight NEDs, with an aspiration to become chairman, spent half a day with us.
The presenters were Martin Stewart who runs Banking at the PRA, Bank of England, Patrick O’Sullivan, Chairman of Old Mutual Group and David Weymouth, Chairman of One Savings Bank.
I think the quality, debate and knowledge exchange surpassed all of our expectations…including the students!
The final event of the day was a debate around a series of events (fairly extreme ones!) that could take place on a Financial Services Board.
A good time was had by all and a lot was learn’t.
A big thanks to three superb presenters. Watch this space for next year’s courses!
