The Asset Manager’s Risk Factor…Post Financial Crisis

Despite the asset management industry having apparently avoided the ‘too big to fail’ label, but with the UK regulator set to decide on how to regulate asset managers by the end of 2015, there is still a need for intelligent debate.


This article highlights some of the key arguments both for and against heavier regulations.   As with so many issues around much of the work that is being done to hold financial institutions more to account however, more still needs to be done in terms of assessing the risks posed on an individual basis rather than the broader, cruder mechanisms still being mooted.
