This was not a walk in the park! We suffered high winds, snow, rain and multiple crevasses but all back safely! An international team became closely knit very quickly, ably assisted by “Shackleton” whisky on the three day boat trip down to the islands from Ushuaia in Argentina! I have never experienced seas like this. South Georgia is quite beautiful and largely bereft of human beings which makes it so special. Unfortunately bird flu has reached the islands which slightly impacted the final part of our route. Importantly, having now completed this, all the respect I had for Shackleton, Worsley and Crean is now through the roof!
